The Presence of Magic(k):

When I was younger, growing up in the Mormon religion, I'd often sit in the pews, dreaming that there were more to Spirituality than Church and Sacrament. I'd play like it was Halloween every single day, pretending that I was a Witch or a Sorceress, or that I was playing with the Fae or Dragons or beings made of Fire and Water and Ice. Sometimes, when I think about it, I wonder if I really was or not. Children have the advantage of the lack of mundane-appreciation.

A little bit later on in life, I decided to stop going to Church, which was not the thing my parents wanted to hear. I literally had to kick and scream to prevent them from taking me to Church. It just felt so wrong for me.

Years later, I came across the wonderful entity known as the Internet. I searched for others like me, and eventually I found some. I read their webpages, learning more and more, and eventually met some people in real life who shared similar views.

Now I know that in some strange way I can live the lives of those Sorceresses and Magic(k)-Users that I read and dreamt about, even if it's not exactly in the same manner. I can read people's minds, and talk to Dragons and the Fae, and have those Elementals help me out, if I train myself properly, and use my Will to get things done. Some day, I may talk to my late GrandMother, and get to know her a little better. Some day, I might even fly with the birds. You never know.
